All the reviews have been highly positive.
 
I haven't read any of the spoilery reviews, but I haven't seen anyone say it sucks balls.

I'm gonna go to the premiere on Monday to watch the stars go down the red carpet.
 
The biggest criticism in any of the reviews is that it's a bit shallow and actiony and doesn't try to ask "big questions" like Trek has in the past. Now, this is unfortunate and I do like it when Trek tries to be intelligent...but I think we've all known for a long time that this is going to be a flashy action heavy movie designed to make Trek somewhat popular again. So I've accepted that and, if it's a hit (and Trek needs a hit after Entershit and Nem...shit) then maybe the sequel will have a bit more depth.

I feel the same as you about this movie. I can deal with it being mainstreamy and a bit dumb because once Trek gets its foot in the door again it can start being intelligent and having big ideas again without cancellation or low returns looming over it. The fact that Trek is actually looking "cool" for the first time I can remember is really exciting to me. I do hope they'll take on board some fan criticisms for the sequel, though. Particularly in the design of course. :p And the less flares the better.
 
Yeah, the clip where Scotty was asking for a towel had some really unnecessary annoying lens fare (Dennis Bailey: I didn't find it annoying or unnecessary :cool:).
