Official Trek 11 countdown/news thread

FINALLY saw an advert for it on TV tonight during the Gadget Show. They've been running ads in America for ages...

I hope the swine flu doesn't harm Trek's moneymaking.

Yeah I saw a "FORGET EVERYTHING YOU KNOW ABOUT STAR TREK, IT'S ACTUALLY COOL!" ad too.

Yeah I saw a "FORGET EVERYTHING YOU KNOW ABOUT STAR TREK, IT'S ACTUALLY COOL!" ad too.

LOL. "THIS ISN'T YOUR FATHER'S STAR TREK!"

By "father" do they mean "me several years ago"?

IT'S HERE IT'S HERE IT'S HERE BUMP!

LET'S TAKE A LOOK BAC AT SEPTEMBER 2007

Since this IS a Trek spin-off board and we are ALL here because of Trek, regardless of if we even like that franchise, I think ONE little thread here in the Mine Field for Trek 11 isn't too much to ask. THE MOVIE IS RELEASED ON CHRISTMAS DAY 2008. I'LL SEE IT ON DVD IF I'M NOT DEAD BY THEN.

Uhura has been cast.

WOW I WAS RIGHT ABOUT EVERYTHING

I just read through the first 5 pages. THERES SOME FUNNY SHIT IN THIS THREAD! DAYUM!

I would if I wasn't so pissed off at the lag on this board anytime I try to load a thread or page.

Quinto's Fingers Glued For Star Trek Salute

8 May 2009 1:15 AM, PDT | From wenn.com | See recent WENN news

Zachary Quinto had such a hard time training his hand to make the Vulcan salute for the new Star Trek movie director J.J. Abrams had to glue his fingers together.

Quinto plays a younger version of Leonard Nimoy's original Spock in the new sci-fi movie, but couldn't train his digits to separate for the "live long and prosper" Vulcan salute.

The actor was so desperate to get the V-shaped hand gesture right he even tried binding his fingers with rubber bands - but it didn't work, forcing Abrams to reach for the glue pot.

A source tells the New York Post a fed-up Abrams "glued Zachary's fingers together during filming" to finally get the shot.

!

However gluing him to the toilet seat was just for shits and giggles

I am really looking forward to this. Karl Urban has always been underrated as an actor IMHO. Looking forward to seeing his Bones.
er, you know what I mean.

It's really not that hard to do. Unless he has FREAK FINGERS.

how do you know it's not that hard to do?
when's the last time YOU yelled out "MURDERERS! ASSASSINS!" ?

wait. never mind.

I MEANT THE VULCAN SALUTE, SILLY!

JUST WAIT UNTIL IT'S RELEASED ON RIGEL 7 TOO

This movie is going to make in 2-3 weeks what ST:IV made its entire run.

curiousa2z: give it a chance though, ok?
Oh, I did. I saw it twice, in fact, and there were a lot of things to like about it. Loved the cast. Loved the concept of the reboot. Hated the execution. More on this later. :)

There will be a pointless green skinned orion slave girl scene I'm sure.

Oh you CW!

Oh my...I think I would indeed like to make him squeal once or thrice...

And he was very attractive in the Star Trek movie.
