they removed DRM from 8 million itunes tracks, effectively making them all "itunes plus" tracks. you can upgrade your library (redownload the tracks) for .30 apiece or just hold on to the old DRM stuff. the music companies determine what gets un-DRMed, however, so there are still pockets of DRM shit for sale. apple's goal is to completely un-DRM everything, but they have to start slow.
amazon is good, i was surprised at the ease and quality and shit. cheaper than itunes, yet tagged correctly so when you drop it into itunes it shows up perfect.
i used to pirate music, but they shut oink down. nothing compares, so i don't bother.
