No. MessengerX was TELLING me what I was, he did not want to discuss the post, he just wanted to tell me that I did not adhere to policy and that I was a moderator. He insulted me and so did you. Neither of you wanted to discuss the fact that I was actually agreeing with you. You both found it far more sporting to have a stab at me for no reason.

Since I was supporting something both MM, Cait and myself agreed on and then it changed and we all agreed on THAT I felt it pertinent to make a post myself explaining that we were not going to be heavy over anything and the idea to stop "call outs" in SF was poorly thought through as many plans are no matter how hard you try and make it fair. It's called communication. And I read what you said before hand, it was part of the reason I made this thread. Look, you want to make me the bad guy, fine. I don't have the time or incentive to argue over this for much longer.

I still have no idea why I have deserved this bitchy reaction but so be it.
 
what did you expect? when you start out with a post like you did in the beginning that might mean one thing to you but when read by others might be taken a different way, you had to know you were going to get called on it.

I do however apologize for it if it seemed out of line. But you know me, I'm resistant to change number one and number two, I've always been of the mind that whatever needs to be done should, if at all possible, be confined to the individuals causing the problem (and I say that being fully aware that I've been part of the spam problem in SF. So sue me. :P ) But changing the board or policies for everyone is like killing the heard because of one sick cow.

To an extent I agree with that. One thing I have learnt is that no matter how good your intentions are it may simply not be the best course of action. That is why we re-visited what wasn't working literally within 24 hours. I believe that the idea is a solid one but it causes secondary problems that are harder to forsee when you think you have a good idea

While there will be a closer eye on people taking the piss just to disrupt (not a new thing) I don't think laying down any absolute rules is going to work and will thourougly defeat the purpose of what we are trying to protect.

The idea originally wasn't actually a bad one it just wasn't defined. And since trying to get everyone to agree to what something as hard to pin down as spam actually is sometimes you have to say: look, this is not only more trouble than it's worth but if we are facing these problems from the start then its probably not a solid idea to begin with.

We are not perfect and nothing to do with TK has ever been easy.
 
Why all this spam? You're either gonna have heavy handed moderation or an open site. Mental is obviously smarter than almost everyone here and he has it figured out. Why keep arguing when you all have no ability to grasp the higher level concepts he's spelling out. Sarek was over his head the moment Mental hit "post reply".

I sympathize with the man. Massive intellect is often a curse when forced to associate with the common folk.
