OMG SOUP! Wednesday is Soup Day!!!!!!

The reason we all hate Paula Deen is because she is SO FUCKING PHONY. No one in the South says y'all that much, or uses that much butter. Food network does that to all its "stars". They turn them into ridiculous caricatures.

Hello focus group, today we're going to talk about Paula Deen. I want you to tell us what it is that you like so much about her.

23 out of 30 people say they like it when she says y'all.

Food network sends Paula an email: Hey sugartits, we want you to say y'all more, your fans love it. We want you to work it into every sentence, okay?

Paula: Okay y'all, I can do that, y'all. Do y'all think I should use more butter in my recipes?

Food network: Yes, Paula we do think you should use more butter. We think you should make butter the main ingredient in 90% of your recipes. 26 out of 30 people like it when you use butter.

Paula: Y'all, are just too funny, y'all. I'll work up an all butter all the time recipe collection, y'all are gonna love it, y'all.

" Ah tell ya whut," when I heard it in Texas. But couldn't really pull it off when I used it myself. :(

And I am thankful no one shot me when I tried.
 
I had soup last night.
The base was tomato bisque
I added mushrooms, peppers and onions
I thought I added less spices/small peppers but it was still too hot

Oh and when I ate it I added cheese and hummus
 
My fave all time soup is chicken corn chowder.

However, Wednesday is NOT soup day. It's Prince spaghetti day! Everyone knows that!

Oh, and Cassie, you are so right about Paula Deen. Here in the south, where this native New Yorker has added "y'all" to her lexicon, I never hear it used that much. I doubt the chick is even from the South.
 
I'll be having soup tomorrow courtesy of the food pantry that delivered our family some soup and other goodies today.

She's a real Southerner. If you watch her older shows, from before she was famous, she isn't so hokey. Food Network ruined her, of course she let them.
 
made curried apple & carrot soup today cuz I got the snow tires put on this morning and now I'm depressed. WINTER IS COMING
