Would the same isle have toys for toddlers on one side, and fast acting rat poison on the other.

No, but it would take a lunatic a matter of seconds to get poison from one isle and sprinkle it on the other.
 
By the same reasoning, it would take a lunatic a matter of seconds to attack somebody with one of the children's toys, too.
 
Given the choice, I think I would rather be attacked by a small plush Pepper pig than a bunch of rat poison.
 
A lunatic isn't likely to wield a cuddly toy though, is he?

I understand that placing the rat poison near children's toys is ironic at best, but it's not exactly Def Con One, is it? I mean, any lunatic in any store could do what you've said, regardless of where the poison is in conjunction with the toys.

I would be worried if Asda started to stock heavy weaponry, Class A drugs & hardcore porn, then placed all that near the children's section.
 
I'm sure lunatics are only likely to attack children if it's REALLY COVENIENT yes. DAMN YOU ASDA!!!
 
That's the only time I attack children.
 
I handle complaints from ASDA shoppers as part of my job.

THEY ALL SAY TO ME:

"If only their was some convenient rat poison to hand when Richard hammond comes on the telly we would all be a lot happier"

And so, our "convenient rat poison" policy was born
 
The toys already have rat poison baked into them, thanks to the DEVILISH CHINESE.
