Person Of Interest

This show was harder than hell to find in streaming video so I bought the first season on DVD pretty cheap through amazon and so far I'm enjoying it. I already ripped through four seasons of The Good Wife (so, SO addicting) and I needed another TV show to obsess over. I always forget how handsome Jim Cazwhatever is, I wonder why he's not more successful.

He is handsome and a good actor, but I'm not sure what he's like in real life. Perhaps he's actually quite similar to his PoI character and therefore just not very charismatic? Kind of like if you took Tom Cruise and sucked out all the crazy, you'd be left with a good looking, capable, but bland actor. I can't recall what kind of range he demonstrated in The Passion.

Channel 5 stopped showing it after nine or ten episodes for no reason and I don't know when it's back. Not something I'd download but I'll watch it if it ever returns.

It was a bit too high brow for 5.

It's just occurred to me that the term "high brow" must stem from all that phrenology nonsense they believed in in the 19th century? Sherlock is forever judging people's intelligence and character by the height of their brow and slope of the forehead.

Cumberbatch is closer to the books, where Sherlock's depicted as cold, self aggrandizing and occasionally manipulative. I don't recall any mention of him being really hot too, but in that respect I welcome some artistic license.

Miller's Sherlock is manipulative, arrogant and frequently demeaning but he still comes across as amusing and warm. Cumberbatch plays Sherlock as a raging madman. I enjoyed the first season but the plot became more and more cartoonish. He shows up as an Iranian (?) executioner to help her escape from certain death. Jesus.

I am slowly watching the Miller one more and more....but I must say I dont hold Cumberbatch responsible for the crack-addled writers' whimsies, so I keep watching that one too.

I think I'm just being contrary about Cumberbatch. I've seen and liked him in other shows and movies but he's gotten such an obnoxious online group of slavering fangirls lately that I find him annoying now. It certainly isn't his fault he's drawn their attention but I guess I'm an anti-fan... the more annoying a fan base is, the more I go out of my way to avoid the object of their lust. I haven't seen anything that Pattinson kid's been in since the furor over Twilight.

other than here, I never follow discussions of shows I like, and I think I may be the happier for it.

LOL NO ONE HAS POSTED ABOUT THIS SHOW IN 2 1/2 YEARS LOL

Person of Interest Officially Cancelled

By Michael Ausiello / March 16 2016, 2:42 PM PDT

It can now be said: Person of Interest is indeed heading into its final season, a CBS rep confirms to TVLine.

POI‘s official cancellation comes just hours after the network announced that Season 5 would kick off on Tuesday, May 3.

POI executive producers Jonathan Nolan and Greg Plageman released the following statement to IGN about the show’s farewell:

“We’re extremely excited to be able share this final season with the fans. We’re eternally grateful to our amazing cast and crew, as well as our partners at the studio and network. Most of all, we want to thank the show’s fans — the best fans in the world. This subversive little paranoia-inducing cyberpunk-thriller is for you and would not have been possible without your support. As life has come to imitate Person of Interest, it’s been our great privilege to work on show for the past five seasons. We can’t wait for you to experience this thrilling and final chapter.”

Speculation about the series’ fate was first born of its shortened, 13-episode order for Season 5. Its absence from CBS’ original 2015-16 schedule —coupled with recent news that co-star Sarah Shahi had snagged the title role in CBS’ Nancy Drew pilot — only added fuel to the fire. The network’s decision to quickly burn off POI‘s final season by airing two episodes a week was the final nail in the coffin.

POI‘s series finale will air Tuesday, June 21 at 10/9c.

I still watch it, I just don't see any point posting about it here when no one else does. We still haven't finished season four in the UK. I think it was known for a while it was going to end.

Channel 5 finally showed the final episode (a year after the States) tonight. It was a good series finale. This thread can finally end!

No. Watch Revolution when it premieres in September or whenever in your country.

This was terrible advice.
