Was I right about him: He was never in danger of being voted out and of course he won...sadly.
It all started so well for Pete. A likable, nice guy who was quite funny ("oh my touette's in context!") in the first few weeks. There was a good moment where he stood up against Grace's evil towards Aisleyne and Sam and told her to give them a chance. Yep, Pete was doing well.
Then he didn't do anything for 11 weeks.
Okay, it's not strictly true. A new girl would fancy him every few weeks and he'd say "I cant' believe a girl fancies me, wow!" in the Diary room and act a bit coy but still touch her and not make it clear he wasn't interested. Somtimes he'd fall over or something but I'm not a fan of slapstick comedy (apart from the violent Bottom kind!) Other than that he was just coasting along. You may have noticed that they would always show him in the Diary Room on the highlights show. This was becasue HE HARDLY SPOKE ALL DAY! He never showed any interest in his fellow housemates or tried to engage them in meaningful conversation (despite claiming he wanted "deep, spiritual" conversation). He rarely went to comfort the housemates when they were upset or emthasised with them. You could say this was due to his Tourette's but he DID show on a few occasion that he was capable of talking to people fairly normally. So he got a bit boring. Then there was the romance with Nikki which I had less of a problem with than more people. I do think she likes him more than he likes her but I'll discuss that elsewhere if required. Then he told all about his "vision" that he was going to win. Not only that, he claimed he HAD to win to sort his life out! WTF! The appeal of Pete, as Menty said somewhere else, was that he didn't care about winning. Suddenly it turned out he did care very much.
Did he really "go on a journey" in the house? He didn't seem much different when he came out, to be honest. He said he went in there to sort his life out but if he was already commited to sorting his life out surely he didn't have to do it on national tv? Why was it essential that he wins? How would things have been any different if he'd finished second to Glyn? He'd have been through all the EXACT same experiences...he just wouldn't have had 100 grand and fireworks at the end. I don't buy this "winning BB saved my life" stuff at all.
He went in the house falling down the stairs. He left the house falling down the stairs. SAYS IT ALL.
Was he a good housemate: For a while, yes, but honestly I think he could have gone about week 6 and not hurt the show or the house much. CONTROVERSIAL.
Best moments: Falling in the pool since it seemed like a genuine accident.
