No.. they haven't explained anything. He did tell locke that he hates his guts for punching him repeatedly in the face, and when Locke ate the drugs stuff again, you remember when he fed it to boone? Charlie said something like I hope that's not drugs cause I know there's a zero tolerance policy around here.. something like that, I don't remember the exact words or anything.

Oi! Slap a spoiler warning on that factoid, Conchaga reads these threads about Lost for some reason despite not wanting to know what happens in it.

This episode was so much more interesting than last weeks. It also made no sense. The hatch has imploded, it's just a big jagged hole in the ground, but Desmond, John and Eko somehow survived(albeit with no clothes, no voice and a subsequent polar bear attack). Just when things were starting to make a bit of sense. Oh and I wonder if those newbies are going to ever be seen again. The woman didn't look familiar, but the dude could've been Steve or Seth or whichever one was always being mentioned but didn't die.

Looks like next week's will show what's going on on both sides of the island.
 
Yeah.. but without telling us anything as usual.

I did think this episode was really good, just didn't explain anything and added more questions.

Oh, apparently those two extras were supposed to be featured in the story more. A press release about the ep said that "Claire is shocked to find Nikki and Paulo in Jack's tent."
 
They are supposed to be new main cast members, that conviently we have never noticed before, but were always meant to have been there.

Much like Khan recognising Chekov despite him being in a season one episode and Chekov not apearing till season two
 
Maybe Lost will be digitally remastered at some point in the future and Nikki and Paulo will be pasted into earlier episodes?

His "smoldering good looks" have apparently earned him the title "Brazil's Tom Cruise". I hope he gets killed. They really did a shit job at introducing new characters.
 
Oh.. well that explains it. I always noticed the extra people running around, didn't think they'd ever really be in the main cast. I guess if they keep killing people off they have to do something. That was a pretty dumb way of introducing new cast members, like we were just supposed to recognize them or something. Maybe the Brazilian Tom Cruise will get abducted by aliens and vaporized in a volcano.
 
Its like, "hey with Jack, Sawyer and Kate out of the way, we are the new alpha male and female, even though you have never seen us before"

Rest of cast "fuck off! Oh look, heres Jack, Sawyer and Kate back!"

New couple "oh shit, back to being extras again"
