I've been watching season 3 of Desperate Housewives. Only up to about the third episode I think, but I love how Mike's forgotten the whole of crumby season 2. It is a bit Days of our Lives though, isn't it? I preferred the first season before Bree acquired an infeasible collection of creepy boyfriends and the writers had recycled the dead body in a dark hole mystery thing. Bree's boyfriend's wife's hand sticking out of the ground is just like Paul Young's box, only with Bree's boyfriend's wife's hand.

I think DH always was a soap opera, so it's always going to depend on how interesting the story arcs are at any given time. Last year's "killer son in the basement" was a bust, but Bree's new in-laws are a hoot this year, IMHO.

(slight spoilers below, nothing too revealing)

It's getting more interesting now. Zach is back, quite different from when he left, and has had an impact on more than one resident of Wisteria Lane so far. Bree's discoveries about her new husband and his past are escalating rapidly, mostly because they have to write her out of the show for the second half of the season due to the actress being pregnant with twins. Expect Nicolette Sheridan to get a lot more screen time this year.

I watched Fight Club, which I hadn't seen before. That was a great movie, I'm sure you all already know that. I even somehow managed to not be spoiled on the plot and how it all turns out. I GUESS I SHOULDN'T EVEN BE TALKING ABOUT IT!

No, Bree is Marcia Cross, who is pregnant with twins IRL and ordered to bed for the rest of her term. Her new hubby (who ran Mike over at the end of last season, causing his coma and amnesia) is the strapping Kyle McLachlan, and his mother is played by Dixie Carter of Designing Women fame (she's a great villain here).

Nicolette Sheridan is Edie, the blonde slut and resident real estate agent, who sells the empty houses in the neighborhood to whoever is going to spend a season on the show...she's been a recurring character, but with Bree missing for half the season I would bet they'll give Edie more to do to make up for it.
 
The best scene this season was when Bree had her fist orgasm ever and thought she was having a stroke.
 
I've seen that one. Poor old dead Rex.

I like Edie. Her biting comments towards SusyQ are always amusing.

Tomorrow I'm going to buy Anchorman, and A Scanner Darkly.
 
Both excellent films, a scanner darkly is pretty fuckin' rad. Anchorman is really good too. Like I said, both excellent. I endorse them whole-heartedly. Yes.
