He knew if he'd off her the job she'd walk. How he knew this FOR SURE isn't clear. Unless it was all a set up. A fucking set-up.
 
Possibly. All the boardroom stuff seems set up and it's not even a real room. The one who gets sacked ends up going from the house, to the boardroom set, to the actual doors of Amstrad and then into another bloody car to get home. Poor things.
