FOLLOW THE PATTERN

1999: Episode I
2002: Episode II
2005: Episode III
2008: Clone Wars CG movie
2011: Live action movie: either a spin-off from the tv series OR a pilot movie for the series (since it keeps getting delayed.)

Trust me, it will happen. Bump this thread in 2011.

Didn't Lucas supposedly also draft chapters 7, 8 and 9 way back when?

Maybe Leia and Han's kids are targeted by the rising New Imperial Guard for being too cute. And Luke is a struggling alcoholic who spends his days belching and pissing on R2, until the spirits of Yoda, Ben and HAYDEN! stage an astral intervention, sending him off to save the kids. Along the way he meets a scarecrow (Chistopher Lee), and tin man (CP30), and a cowardly lion (Nathan Lane). Together they blow up a menacing-looking fire hydrant and piss off down the pub.

They've already kind of done that in books. And there's no way they'd get Carrie Fisher back in Leia outfits now...it would not be pleasant.

Depending on who you ask, there were originally going to be 9 or 12 films.

At the end of 6 Luke would kill Vader and end up replacing him at the emperors side having gone over to the dark side.

Then the heroes would have to go looking for Luke sister, who was not Liea, and train her up to be a Jedi, who would ultimatly end up fighting Luke in episode 9 or 12, and turn him back as Luke once turned Anakin, so Luke would kill the emporer, and possibly die from his injuries as Vader did.

But either Lucas got bored, or he didnt like how much everyone raved over Empire, that he had much less involvement in, so he concateenered the remaining story into one overpacked last installment.

There will never be 7, 8 and 9. The stories are about the rise and fall of Anakin. Rebuilding the Republic afterwards doesn't fit the saga as another trilogy. Luke or not.

As for a possible movie/s based on the tv series.. that is just not possible to know right now. I would expect that there will be more mega-blockbuster Star Wars films but not for a long time and they would be seperate from the 6 we have now.
