I'm just curious as to whether or not Janet's said anything. Those two were particularly close. I'd like to hear what she has to say. Instead of most of his leeching siblings.
She (or her rep) made a brief statement when she arrived from England, where she was when it happened.
Other than that, she's been quiet. She seemed to be taking care of Paris at the memorial, so maybe she's been quietly supportive so far.
I've been interested in what she's been thinking/feeling/going through too. She seems to be more independent of the family, but was still really close to Michael.
I really wonder how close MJ & Janet really were??
Just watched an Oprah interview (a few years ago) on youtube & Janet hadn't even spoken to MJ in over 2 years!??
Janet had not even seen MJ's newborn child...what exactly is close about that??
I think MJ was distancing himself from his entire family. Not sure if this was healthy or not, but obviously a fact. If you are close to someone, you do not go years with no communication.
Michael and Janet were very close. All the family were to be honest. All his brothers were very close to him and Michael was extremely close to his mother. We all know about the less than steady relationship with Joe Jackson but they had reconciled a long time ago and Joe was the one who came out to fight the hardest and be at Mike's side during the court case in 2005.
LaToya and Michael were, believe it or not, probably the closest to each other during his meteoric rise to fame in the early 80's. LaToya lived with Michael during the Thriller years and he put her in three of his videos. Then she went off the rails completley and through a mixture of extreme abuse by her then husband and her failed pop career she started stabbing her family in the back. But she has since come back in to the fold as well obviously.
Jermaine and Michael were the lead singers and so they spent more time together than any of the other siblings and Jermaine has always been and never wavered from protecting Michael in everything.
Jermaine married Berry Gordys daughter in the late 70's and so he left the Jacksons when they left Motown and there was issues over that and all the brothers were a bit lost when it was clear that Michael wasn't going to hang around and his solo career was rising faster than anyone could of forseen. Hence the Victory tour in 84 was the last time they would perform together until 2001.
It was/is a very dysfunctional family but they obviously all deeply care for each other.
