About what? The robbery thing? No. Not until much later. I tend to react on adrenaline when the situation calls for it, which has saved my ass on more than one occasion. Much later, though, when you think about how close you came...different story. I've had stuff keep me up for months trying to sleep at night.

yep. Same here. While in a dangerous situation, I am cold as steel because it's necessary. Afterwards, when there is no concentration required anymore, I'll get shaky knees.
Contrary to you I don't usually dream of it or even think of it, though. It's dealt with and over, all decisions have been made, there's nothing I could possibly change so I have to accept it and live with it. No use in going over it again during the night. I do have lots of nightmares but they never reflect situantions that actually happened but are mere fiction (mostly about getting into some embarassing situation). Over the years I developed the ability to simply wake up when it gets too uncomfortable, turn around and go on sleeping. Usefull talent

I don't have nightmares really. Years ago I trained myself to wake up from dreams so I could write them down. A side effect of that is that I can wake "partly" and adjust the dreams in my head. So if I dream of zombies chasing me I can rouse myself enough to go back to the same basic dream only now I'm a ninja with a lightsaber. Good times.
But I've had a number of specific incidents that were extremely dangerous or close shaves and they sometimes get stuck in my head preventing sleep. One such event had gunplay and the sound of the shot would echo in my head as I went to sleep for a long time after. Kind of a ghost noise that seemed just as loud and real as the original incident and would wake me up the same way. Like"wtf was that?" I guess its a mild form of Ptsd but I never really suffered anything but that I described.
Can't imagine what soldiers go thru though. Most of my baggage is isolated "wrong place wrong time wrong fucking crowd" stuff. Those people get shot at every damn day. Whew.

I used to be able to do that. I tried and failed to go back to my dream last night where I was playing/teasing two cats I used to own and right before the dream ended one of the cats screamed at me in a cute high pitched voice "FUCKER!"

wow, Donovan, that sounds bad. I've had a few close shaves, too, but fortunately I am robust enough to push them aside, file them under "done with, can't be changed" and never dream of them.
However, while awake, I still have to fight the urge to automatically take cover at the closest wall at hand when a helicopter or military plane flies low over my head. (A little souvenir from Namibia while it was still under South African occupation.)
