this is in my backyard, but the hummingbirds were killed in someone else's garden - look how tiny they are. the male had an irridescent ruby throat that actually glowed if you caught the light the right way. note he's smaller than his Missus.

^heh....yeah, like the dandelions in the back that are already sending out new seeds....I remove weeds the old-fashioned way and that means a few get by me!
...also try to take a laissez-faire attitude toward the wild flowers that some others may call weeds...long as you dont get obnoxious and start pushing other flowers out, we can all get along.

I noticed something this year about "weeds" .... I keep hearing how all of the bees are dying off and crops arent getting pollenated and so on. Then I heard a guy talking on my favorite gardening show about how grass seed doesn't contain clover like it used to... and everyone knows bees love clover, but if people are spraying /using weed and feed, that clover wont grow and no bees will come around. I'm letting the Indian Strawberries take over my backyard, hope they choke out the grass and I'll never have to mow again!
