Rick Berman on "24"?

I have no idea why I watch this show anymore, since it's always the same old repackaged shit, but last night there was a dialogue between the President and her daughter about who the new Chief of Staff should be (since Captain Maxwell resigned last week) and they talked about two names: Bob Justman and Rick Berman.

I'm sure this was supposed to be some sort of clever inside joke to Trek fans, courtesy of the two boobs who wrote the episode (BRANNON BRAGA and that ENT Season 4 head scribe, Manicotti or whatever his name is), but...seriously? Why?

Does Mani Cotto's writing suck too now? He was quite good in Enterprise 4.

It's hard to say. He's teamed up with Brannon Braga, so who knows? They're both also listed as executive producers of "24", so maybe Berman is a superior using a pen name or something.

They also tend to recycle a lot of former Star Trek actors on that show.
