RIP Pete Postlethwaite

curiousa2z

Be patient till the last.
stupid cancer.

a great talent and this was too soon.

Very sad. I noticed how gaunt he was in The Town.

Just heard about it this morning. He was awesome in The Usual Suspects and absolutely brilliant in In The Name of the Father. He and his work will surely be missed.

I wasn't a big fan, I must admit, but 64 is too young to go these days.

He was always good in the things I saw him in.

He looked ill in Inception too, but he was playing a dying man...

I could have sworn he was already dead, although I may have been thinking of someone else.

That reminds me of a poem I can't remember, and a song that may never have existed, and place I'm not sure I've ever been to.

Watch him play Obadiah Hakeswill in Sharpe's Company & Sharpe's Enemy. He plays an absolute arsehole to perfection, and utterly outshines Sean Bean throughout.

I may have been thinking of Bob Peck before.

Miss him already. His response to the Spielberg quote was typical and excellent.

Apologies
Mr Postlethwaite, who was made an OBE in the 2004 New Year's Honours List, was once described by Hollywood director Steven Spielberg as 'the best actor in the world'.
They worked together on The Lost World: Jurassic Park and Amistad.
To which Mr Postlethwaite responded: 'I'm sure what Spielberg actually said was, "the thing about Pete is that he thinks he's the best actor in the world".'

I forgot he was in Jurassic park.

I confused him with the gamekeeper from the first one (Pete was in Jurrassic Park 2.)

"Clever girl..."

(Was a line not said by him.)

So Bob Peck then

similar characters. different actors.

Both dead.
