Rupert Murdoch now more unpopular than Hitler, Idi Amin & Satan put together.

Light the fire around the stake now!

I think this is fantastic, but aren't you concerned that The Times might dragged into all this? Gordon Brown obviously took one shot already, but he's not so good with the old depth perception. Who knows what'll happen next, though.

I said to someone last week that I expected at least one suicide over this and it looks like it happened.

The year's at the spring,
And day's at the morn;
Morning's at seven;
The hill-side's dew-pearl'd;
The lark's on the wing;
The snail's on the thorn;
God's in His heaven--
All's right with the world!

None of those other guys started Faux News.

Amazing:

Cameron can survive it easily, though. He's more distanced from this than Tony Blair was from David Kelley's death. But he has been unusually slow to react in this affair. And he doesn't have a media conglomerate to stick up for him.

Murdoch is still more popular than Charley BB8.

So now we have to find out how evil Chase Carey is. Apparently he is the heir apparent, even though Rupes would remain on the board.

Maybe he's not a rabid right-wing asshole, or butt-buddies with Roger Ailes. Maybe some slow change might be on the horizon...

NAAAAAH.

I'd rather see the whole stinking operation go down. But I suppose it'd only get replaced by something else anyway. The Daily Mail are supposedly planning to launch another Sunday tabloid to take NotW's place (they already have a Mail on Sunday, but apparently one paper doesn't constitute enough hate).

Meanwhile, for anyone watching the cross-questioning later from the Commons committee, there's a print out and keep bingo card. Bingo card for Murdoch enquiry on Twitpic

Cameron has been summoned to an emergency meeting of the 1922 commitee tomorrow. That possibly means that 15% of the Tory caucus has requested a VONC!

(I'm spurtin' here)

I can't see them really VONCing him out, who'd replace him? Theresa May and William Hague both seem quite suited to their existing positions and Hague's already taken a shot at becoming PM and been rejected by the voters. Wouldn't Clegg automatically take over? That doesn't sound like something Tories would be more comfortable with even if they dislike Cameron.

"Deputy PM" isn't actually a position with legal standing in Commonwealth countries, so no, Clegg wouldn't take over. The coalition agreement was written to withstand a change of leader in either party, and the leader of the Conservative party gets to be Prime Minister.

I don't know who'd replace him, but an emergency meeting of the 1922 committee is kind of a big deal, especially given that Cameron has made a point of pissing them off a few times.

'citing, if anything!

:pie:

@trollkingdom After the attack, he was reportedly foaming at the mouth. #foamhacking
