Saddest TV moments ever

Hambil

I AM A GOLDEN GOD
I'm going to nominate three:

1) Wesley's death scene in Not Fade Away.
2) Fred's death scene in A Hole in the World.
3) Doctor Who on one side of the wall and Rose on the other, in Doomsday (the actual final goodbye scene was not as powerful IMHO).

1.That time they made BA fly without drugs. Mr T should never scream like a girl. EVER.
2. When Pam woke up and the entire 8th season of Dallas was a dream.
3. Every single episode of every reality TV show ever/ Fonzie jumps a shark.

Frys dog waiting for him until he dies of old age

The ending of Quantum Leap.

Colonel Blake's death in M*A*S*H.

Mark Harmon dying on The West Wing after saving CJ from her stalker, and instead getting shot by a thief in a convenience store. Ripoff.

Sunshine being evicted from Big Brother.

Just because I've been watching a lot of Doctor Who recently...
The whole 30 minutes leading up to the death of the 10th Doctor. It really struck you in the face at how tragic a character the Doctor really is.
Doctordonna's regression to regular Donna.
Susan's departure during the Invasion of the Daleks and subsequent return a few seasons later. You can see the pain on The Doctor's face at having to leave his progeny behind.

The death of Charlie on LOST. His character made the most change out of any other on that show. IMHO he deserved to live.

My Super Sweet 16, Jersey Shore, and any other show idolizing the stupidity of man on MTV.

Star Trek: Voyager. All of it.

I'll stop there.

It's not really sad, but poignent, sticking with Dr. Who.

When Wilfred and the 10th Doctor are in the cafe, and the Doctor goes "I'm going to die." and Wilf looks at him and says "Well, so am I, on day," and then the Doctor, holding back tears, says "Don't you dare." I get a little misty-eyed watching that scene.

And yea, Donna having her memory erased.

The last seven episodes/specials of the 10th Doctor are all really tragic. Well, with the exception of the Music of the Spheres. That was just kooky. I did like the original theme music at the end tho.

Leela's parents surreptitiously looking after her all the time she was growing up, without her ever noticing

Frys dog waiting for him until he dies of old age
I skip that ep when it's on, because it makes me too incredibly sad to watch it.

Also,

- Mike and Gloria leave for California on All in the Family
- Edith's death on Archie Bunker's Place (All in the Family)
- Mark Greene's death on ER ("The Letter/On the Beach")

Old Jake Sisko dying in 'The Visitor' and Young Jake Sisko waiting for his dad to come home in 'What You Leave Behind...'

When Johnny Carson said Goodbye.

When Mr. Hooper died.

When Owen Hart died on camera (basically) during a ppv, I was working and had scramblevision playing so I could hear the action, but no picture. The utter shock in the voices of the announcers was something I won't forget.

Not really tv per se, but I was listening to Howard Stern the morning of 9-11 as the morning went from goofball bawdy comedy to sudden shock and interest, to dawning horror as Howard and his gang learned along with the rest of us what was happening. As soon as I got to college I told my classmates about the first plane (at that moment it was still just a horrific accident, and we muddled through the class. Then we ran for the tv room and saw the second plane hit.

No imagined or other sad moment will ever compare to that moment...

I think someday, when we are healed enough, we will want to listen to the live broadcasts of many various personalities and shows from that day, because it was a defining moment for many, and perhaps even in history. That is yet to be seen, we are still to close to it, and I feel the moment slip away as we revert slowly back to old patterns and leave the chance to unite behind... but we shall see.

In STNG - Data created a daughter and she had all his abilities plus. She was everything that Data wanted to be. Then she died - cascading failure.

When Xena and Gabriel died on the cross.

When Jockster was killed.

When Fred was killed and her body possessed by Ilyria.

When Spike realized he was in love with Buffy.

If we're going for Trek sadness, let's talk about Inner Light. Stewart has even commented on how that particular role changed him as a person.
