...and had a BLAST.

DEVO can still rick the shit OUT, just like they could 30 years ago. They fill out their yellow radiation suits a little more than they used to, but the boys can still PLAY THEIR SHIT!

Tom Tom Club was fun and trippy as well. It's as close as I'll ever come to seeing Talking Heads live, and it was just fine. They even did Take Me to the River at one point, just to make sure everyone made the connection. Fun stuff.

Drank a lot of beer (this is what they do in Brooklyn, apparently), but topped off the night down in the Village with my piano bar buddies. A very good night all around...

It's going to suck going back to work on Monday :D
 
I'm green with envy, srsly, except for the Take Me To The River bit. If it had been Burning Down The House it would've have been better.
 
Psycho Killer is my all-time favourite of theirs, but I'd have been glad to listen to Take Me to the River! Sounds like a most excellent evening all told!

The outdoor venue was a trip too. It was a huge public swimming pool, and they constructed a bandshell off the deep edge of the pool, and the crowd stands in the actual pool for the show.

A big YES on the Energy Domes. They started out in the domes and the yellow hazard suits, and then lost the suits to reveal their black tank top/shorts outfits, but keeping the domes.

They still sell the domes at shows too; there were several of them floating about the crowd, including my friend Steve. He has an afro, which eventually took the shape of the domes when he removed the hat. :D
 
That sounds pretty kick ass. I've never seen them...always wanted to, but never got the chance. :(
