BBC News - DJ and TV presenter Jimmy Savile dies, aged 84

A part of all (British people's) childhood is gone. An eccentric genius (YES, GENIUS) who did lots of charity work and invented discos and said "now then" a lot. He will be missed (this sounds sarcastic but it's really not.)

I found him very, very odd.

He used to hang around a restaurant in Leeds called Flying Pizza. When it was someone's birthday he used to go over to their table and dribble on them with his cigar. The children involved generally screamed, or looked terrified. He then insisted that they get their camera out to take a snap with him. I saw this happen several times and it was a bizarre situation. A real "Mummy, make the smelly bad man go away" moment.

This is without mentioning the Theroux documentary.

It's sad he has gone, but let's not forget he was a FUCKIN WIERDO
