SKYRIM HAS DISPLACED ME FROM THE TV

I haven't even plugged my new PS3 in yet, but someday Skyrim will claim my soul ALSO.

Say "MY HOUSE, MY RULES" and start handing out Stone Cold Stunners then DESTROY Skyrim with a fucking hammer and say "IN MY DAY WE ONLY HAD PONG AND IT WAS SHIT BUT WE PLAYED IT AND WE LIKED IT" and do a backflip.

That feeling when you use console commands to spawn 3 grand dragons in the thieves guild and watch the entire guild go bat shit crazy as they get decimated then get bored and spawn 5000 cheese wheels and jump around in them for 20 minutes kicking them past the corpses of dragon casualties before realizing you're fucking INSANE.

I played Skyrim with my 17 year old nephew and it was OKAY.

I like a game with a purpose, but this seems to be just roaming around on my demon horse, gathering spells, killed half-dressed women and cussing up a storm when I get bit by a vampire.

Don't get me wrong, it's beautiful and epic. But it doesn't do me like Zelda does.

That slut.

They don't have a great deal in common really. I haven't played Skyward Sword yet but I have followed it closely enough to know it's a classic and return to form for the series which in itself is a big ask.

Skyrim and all the Elder Scrolls games are vast open worlds where exploration and finding your own story is half of the fun. You can quite easily ignore the main story for hundreds of hours because you're far too busy doing side quests or MAKING your own fun with the various different dynamics the game has. Zelda on the other hand has some open world elements but is a more finely tuned tapestry of ideas woven neatly together. It's a different (but in no way inferior) experience in every way. It's just hard to compare the two games because of how vastly different they are.
