So Elwood asks for suggestions...

My suggestion would be the first rule to come 24 hours after the shitstorm to be anything but some stupid rule about mods being able to rep war...especially when the shitstorm had nothing to do with rep.

Of course, but he needed something shiny to hold up to distract the masses, and it seems to have worked.

You know what I think? And this is not based on fact, just a gut feeling.

There were questions about the PM that Crosis published. Was Storm advocating a RL disclosure, or rep war? It is a fact that Listkeeper agreed to participate.

The rule was set in place to whitewash the act. Now that it's official that staff can participate in rep wars, what Listkeeper did is well within guidelines now, isn't it? There can be no repercussions.

Covering their asses. EliteForge takes care of their own.

Wordforge is a blight upon cyberspace itself. Close it down! I have met more open minded rational people at the Hannity Forums and I can count them using one hand.

Rep wars are stupid, childish, and what has torn Wordforge apart IMHO.

Everybody gather 'round

Then methodically comes up with reasons to ignore suggestions without really thinking about them.

Yeah, I really do think the current regime at WF would pilot the board straight into the sun before handing the helm over to anyone else.
Neither Elwood or the bulk of his staff are interested in what people have to say I don't think. Notice I said the bulk of his staff. I think there are maybe one, or two at most who are very interested in taking to heart the suggestions of members.

Especially when he asks for suggestions and then turns around and tells those who are making suggestions to "sell him on the idea".

His big move has been to allow mod's to participate in rep wars. Talk about some chicken shit stuff. As if that is going to do anything to change either the attitudes, or the actions of the staff and the perceptions those are just "posters" feel.

I forget where it was posted, but in one of the threads over there, Elwood bemoans how no one wants to be a moderator for him. Well no shit. The sorts of people who would be good moderators aren't the sort of people who will kiss your ass and be your brainless puppet. And a good moderator should have enough ethics that they'd be very uncomfortable with the sort of shifty shit Elwood's been doing.

Sorry, who are you again?

From what I've read he bemoans that all the people who would be "good" moderators will not do it because of the limitations of being in such a position. Unfortunately for everyone, I think his definition of a good moderator is one that will be a part of his staff and do his bidding without much question. After all that is the type he seems to "trust" the most.

He only asks "yes-men" eventually he'll run out.
