I'm not sure why Borgs is slated as much he is, he didn't seem that bad to me. He only did some mean stuff when he was usurped afaik. Unless I'm missing part of the story. Which is possible.
 
Borgs' main problem was that he couldn't control his staff. And when he tried to do that by threatening to fire a couple of them, they responded by stealing the board. He was justifiably angry after that, but the official line (once it stopped being that borgs willfully sold the board) is that he went crazy and they had no choice but to take over.

And let's not forget the movements behind the scenes to try and make him more unstable in the eyes of the membership, and the plot to drive him towards a ban after he stepped down.

I'm sure Nick was part of that outrage too. Hell, pretty much everyone on staff probably was.

Sure - "it's torrentforge, illegal blabla" - you know what? Fuck you. It's the same fucking principle behind it.

Because, apparently, you seem to think that it would slow down things or make them more complicated or something. Well, personally I agree with the sentiment that there are too many people on staff - however, I'm also a little troubled by the time it takes to FUCKING GET ANYTHING DONE. A ton of members ask for a video games forum? Sure thing, give us a month or so and we'll be done thinking about it. But only if you keep reminding us. Yeah, sure seems efficient and real fast. :gagh:

It has nothing to do with you personally you paranoid little jerk. You want to violate the trust of the board for an instant population for your board. Tough shit! You need to ask people to join up like anyone else starting a board. Plenty of folks will join you because they are interested in the topics and don't mind taking the legal risk. Many other people here won't be interested and it isn't fair to make it a fait accompli and force them to ask to be removed. Particularly when your proposed site will contain illegal materials by your own admission!!

It is wrong to hand over the memberlist and I will fight it every step of the way and would if it was being done by anyone else.

I don't know the details of your contract with him (if any) though most IP transactions involve all such things like backups and the like. In other words, if you sold him the board, you sold him the rights to all information stored in whatever format relating to the board. If you'd scratched notes down on a cocktail napkin about its design, he'd own those as well.

My issue with Borgs didn't have to do with using the database per se, it was what he was using it for.

Not everyone wanted their handles, e-mails which some contain people's real names or anything else associated with a piracy site, which was what he was initially planning.

If he had been making another board like WF or TK, I wouldn't have given a damn.
