Movies Spaceballs 2: The Search For More Money

CaptainWacky

I want to smell dark matter

(Okay the subtitle isn't official but it should be.)

Will Rick Moranis return?

If he wants money, yes.

Moranis and Pullman are confirmed. Mel’s coming back as Yogurt. He’ll be ONE HUNDRED years old when this comes out, which is objectively fucking wild.

Might be blasphemy, but I never thought Spaceballs was that good. It’s fine, but it’s not the comedy classic people make it out to be. OK, I guess it is for a lot of people, sure, but it’s really got just 3 or 4 decent gags when you break it down. I never rated it that highly. The Producers, Blazing Saddles, and Young Frankenstein are all miles better.

Rick Moranis coming out of retirement is definitely cool, though.

Hopefully they bring Tim Russ back (one of the aforementioned actually good gags)

Bringing Tim Russ back would be wise.

Was that History of the World Part 2 sequel any good? I haven't watched that yet. That might be a bellweather for how good this might be...

I heartily endorse this product or event.

I only liked the original because I was obsessed with Star Wars and finally there was another movie that was a bit like Star Wars but also John Candy was dressed as a dog.

I don't think he's going to be in this one

Let's hope there is no bad CGI John Candy.

They'll probably have "Baby Yoghurt" in in it and it'll be mildly amusing for a few seconds.

I'm guessing this will be related to what Josh Gad will be playing in the movie.

I'm happy that Mel Brooks is still alive, if nothing else.

I really really want this to be hilarious and loved, because well he's almost 100 and every project threatens to be his swan song...

What was his last good movie...

Depends on who you ask. Some would say Robin Hood: Men in Tights from 1993, some might go back further to the classics from the 70s...

The miniseries History of the World Part 2 from a few years ago didn't get great reviews; I still haven't watched it.

He leant his voice and is listed as a co-writer for Paws of Fury: The Legend of Hank from 2022 -- maybe ask around to the kids/grandkids if they liked it?

He was funny in his Curb Your Enthusiams appearances (with his late wife Anne Bancroft in her final role), but I did mean things he directed himself. Of course he isn't directing this new movie so that's kind of irrelevant! I did like Men In Tights when I was a child but I couldn't tell you any quotes from it now. Only bit I rememer is Patrick Stewart playing the Sean Connery role at the end and being funny.
