I tipped heavily with every cafe solo I ordered. I explained to them strenuously that I was doing it to help their economy.
I even spoke loud English to them with a pronounced Spanish accent.
Every time I left an establishment the waiters seemed to gather together together to see me off. It's almost like an official wave off. At least I think that was what the hand gestures were.
