SPAMCAPITAL VII: Conchaga is a douchebag!!

"Bridge Job"

i.e. the job you hate but hate being unemployed even worse.

Got the "don't take a vacation, there are lots more of you out there" lecture a few weeks ago.

Fucktard.

Thats my problem too. Most of the jobs I've held in the last 8 years have been bridge jobs. I long to find something more stable that pays a decent wage. But haven't as yet.

Having had to face the cold, hard facts more than a few times in my life, I am well aware that there are some real cold, hard facts to face.

I like you and don't want you to get mad at me but because I like you I'm going to tell you about the cold, hard facts of life.

In order to get hired a person usually needs to meet some qualifications for the job. Just being a sentient human being is not always enough.

To meet the requirements to do a job, sometimes that requires training, education, and experience.

If a person doesn't want to be treated like a dime a dozen type employee then they shouldn't be a dime a dozen type employee.

Don't sit on the couch and whine about being fucked. Get up off the couch, take a shower, brush your hair, shave your face, get dressed in clean, pressed clothes and go to the temporary unemployment agency. Go to all of them everywhere in your city and the cities surrounding your city that you can get to.

Go to the store and get a real, hard copy newspaper and look at the wanted ads. Apply for all those that you can possibly do and take in person applications.

One thing is for certain, while you don't have to be pretty to get a job, if you smell bad more than likely you won't get it even if you are the best qualified.

Understand that depression over not being unemployed is your worst enemy. Depression will keep you unemployed. Depression will keep you fat. Depression will keep you ugly. Depression will keep you unsuccessful.

Just about everyone has at one time or another been filled with self-doubt, self-loathing, major insecurity, and fear that they are not good enough, that they are not worthy, that things will never get better, that they can not rise above their current situation. At some point you have to scrape yourself off the bottom of the barrel - that you own - and do what you need to do to get out of the situation you are in.

You seem to like preparing food. Have you thought about looking into a grant to go to school to become a kitchen helper or a chef or something else in the food industry?

I'm too old to start in the culinary industry. From what I've researched and out of the mouth of chef/writer Anthony Bourdain "If you aren't a chef by the time your 30 you ain't going to become one."

I don't believe him. There are all kinds of people out there who would rather be a chef (or something else for that matter) but because of the way their lives have played out - have to support other people, the only job they could get, couldn't get funding to get higher education, whatever - they haven't been able to pursue that ideal job. When you reach that day and realize you can do what you want and remember what you wanted to do, you can go forward with that. The only time it is too late is when you're dead.

OMG - it has been more than a day since anyone posted in this thread. We will never reach 5000 at this rate. I will not live forever.

So the cats were cleaning out what was left in the cream cheese container. The little one licked it all clean on the inside and the big one licked it all clean around the rim. Then, when the little one was finished, the big one licked all the cream cheese off the little one's head.

Sometimes cats are really adorable.
