In order to get hired a person usually needs to meet some qualifications for the job. Just being a sentient human being is not always enough.

Go to all of them everywhere in your city and the cities surrounding your city that you can get to.
Go to the store and get a real, hard copy newspaper and look at the wanted ads. Apply for all those that you can possibly do and take in person applications.
One thing is for certain, while you don't have to be pretty to get a job, if you smell bad more than likely you won't get it even if you are the best qualified.
Understand that depression over not being unemployed is your worst enemy. Depression will keep you unemployed. Depression will keep you fat. Depression will keep you ugly. Depression will keep you unsuccessful.
Just about everyone has at one time or another been filled with self-doubt, self-loathing, major insecurity, and fear that they are not good enough, that they are not worthy, that things will never get better, that they can not rise above their current situation. At some point you have to scrape yourself off the bottom of the barrel - that you own - and do what you need to do to get out of the situation you are in.
