Taco trucks thrive here in the middle of the night, when drunken bar-hoppers need a snack on the way home.

Ours show up to construction sites at luchtime during the week. The funny thing is the Mexicans always somehow get a delicious looking plate of something wonderful, while I usually get day-old chimichangas with cheese thrown halfhazardly in the general direction of the plate.

I suspect it has something to do with my poor command of Spanish.

The good thing about making your own tacos is discovering that homemade salsa is so much better than the shit you buy at the store.

I feel like making pesto today. Homemade salsa is great.

I must admit-yesterday at the taco truck,they were handing out lemons instead of limes. Wtf? Was there really a shortage of limes? I know the mexican store next door has them- I was just there the other day!

Yes there really has been a lime shortage, which has led to cartels snatching up all the crops like they were poppies and selling them at a premium.

I think substituting limes with lemons is an okay thing to do. There's not that much difference... except there are some lemons that taste lots better than others.
