Okay, so the casting is interesting but I'm still getting the impression that I'd rather shave my head with a cheese grater while chomping on aluminum foil rather than ever bother to pirate it. I'm still trying to get through the last few episodes of Discovery but I can only take them 5 minutes at a time.

Giamatti was great as "Smoking Bellboy" in My Best Friend's Wedding.

I hear he's done some other things since then.

That is not a casting choice I would heve ever predicted! Kind of sounds like she's playing like the helm officer who doesn't have many lines or something, with how she worded it as "part of the Brdge crew", but who knows!

I think it's kinda cool. From Sasha in Mando to Becky in Starfleet Academy. Worlds colliding! Along with SNW S3; Starfleet Academy is a show I still have an inkling of hope could be good, so here's to hoping.
