Okay. I'm not a comic book reader so don't have any expectations going into these kinds of movies.
The Joker and Harley Quinn are not the kind of criminals to get behind. They are lunatic killers. That doesn't make them endearing or misunderstood. Just vicious killers. Idolizing them is not something I'd want to do. That said, I liked that Joker would risk anything, do anything, to rescue his lady love. And she has her sweet moments too. They need to have some real redeeming qualities though.
The turn around in the squad fighting on the side of right was just too easy.
Loved the fire god guy. That was a great visual.
Croc guy - okay. Deadshot - okay. Native American guy was the obvious red-shirt almost immediately. Too bad. I'd have liked to see what his deal was.
This was only slightly better than an okay movie. Worth 3D Imax? No. Worth full price ticket? No. Matinee price good enough. Do I need to see it again? No. Would I recommend it? Depends. It had more story than the usual 99 explosions and counting plots we've been getting for far too many years.
Still waiting for something worthy of blockbuster title this year.

Saw it yesterday, not the clusterfuck I was expecting. I watched the extended version, so no idea what the movie version was like, but this turned out okish. I'm not in a hurry to watch it again, but its not one of those films I would never watch again, like say Sucker punch.
Even the Joker wasn't as bad as he appeared in the still photos and the trailers.
Its certainly better than Batman V Superman, and I know it didn't exactly set a high bar.
I recon half the budget must have gone on securing rights to the various music tracks.

I liked the original Suicide Squad better. That part where they march up to the crucifixions, take out their swords, and the one guy yells, "Suicide squad-uh! ATTACK!"
