SPOILERS GALORE ABOUT WANTED
ok, we went to see Wanted last night, thought it did indeed kick ass, - and yes Im the only one at TK - loved la Jolie in it! Even with those skinny arms, she pulls off the assassin role, and was well-served as a cold killer who as a little girl watched someone burn her dad to dead before her eyes.
As usual Morgan Freeman plays it just enough.
James McAvoy shirtless [ there is a god!] has just earned a new spot in my collection, and he can act, too! Those anxiety attacks! And he did enough of a job convincing me that he could unleash the "caged lion inside" - when he goes beserk in the factory, he's done a credible job of making it believable he's actually capable of it...I hate those 'downtrodden pussy instantly morphing into efficient killing machine' characters - wut? The plot did a good job of showing the process without getting boring.
Only thing I did NOT get (no rewind in the theatre): WHY was the Russian guy there when Wesley had run after Cross under the subway overpass? I mean this was a spontaneous chase when Wesley spotted his father after he (W) went to his apartment to retireve the gun, right? Did I miss something?
Nice twisty ending too.

Okay, I think the Russian guy knew what was going on, because remember when he would show Wesley the exploding rats, and say "your father always loved this?" The man was crazy, but I think Wesley's dad had him watching out for him.
