Super Bowl 2024 Commercials

The price of a 30-second Super Bowl ad in 2024 is the same as in 2023: $7 million. To break it down for you, that amounts to an average cost of over $233,333 per second. Over the past 20 years, the price of a Super Bowl ad has increased by over 300% or $5 million, even when adjusted for inflation, according to Statista. Even in the last decade alone, the cost of a Super Bowl ad has almost doubled, as the average cost to run an ad during the Super Bowl XLVIII in 2014 was $4 million.

Why are Super Bowl ads so expensive?
Four words: high cost, high reward. Securing an advertising spot during the Super Bowl unlocks the attention of over 100 million viewers around the world, which is a phenomenal amount of brand exposure, especially in the age of short attention spans, social media, and ad-free streaming services.
And that's not to mention the inevitable chatter about these commercials on talk shows, social media, and word of mouth even after Super Bowl Sunday ends. Plus, according to recent figures from USA Today, which showed earnings of $434.5 million of in-game ad revenue, the expenses are equally effective for the network broadcasting the Super Bowl.
