Cincinnati Bengals not worried about offensive line's mismatch against Los Angeles Rams in Super Bowl

Everyone might be talking about the biggest mismatch in Super Bowl LVI. The Cincinnati Bengals are not. Bengals assistant coach Frank Pollack said Tuesday that the offensive line isn't concerned about how it's viewed heading into Sunday's game against the Los Angeles Rams who have one of the best defensive fronts in the league. The Rams finished the regular season ranked No. 1 in pass-rush win rate. The Bengals were 30th in pass-block win rate. Cincinnati's coaches know the Rams might be the toughest test the pass blocking has faced all season. But they say the Bengals are up for the challenge.

Cincinnati tight end C.J. Uzomah says he will take chilli bath if Bengals win Super Bowl LVI

Cincinnati Bengals tight end C.J. Uzomah will go all-in if the team wins Super Bowl LVI. Specifically, he'll go all-in ... a tub full of chili. During Thursday's virtual media availability, Uzomah said he will soak in Cincinnati-style chili if the Bengals beat the Rams on Sunday to get the first Super Bowl win in franchise history. He said he is serious about putting on some swim trunks and taking a dip in the culinary item that Cincinnati is most associated with. As the Bengals have made their best playoff run in three decades and won the AFC title for the first time since 1989, that vision inched a little closer. Uzomah has seen his now-viral clip float around Twitter and said celebrating a Super Bowl victory is something he thinks about often.

LOS ANGELES (AP) — Four people were shot and wounded early Saturday after a fight broke out outside a Los Angeles restaurant hosting a party that followed a Justin Bieber concert, police said.
The gunfire erupted outside The Nice Guy restaurant, striking and injuring four men ages 60, 22, 20 and 19, LAPD Officer Lizeth Lomeli said. Their names were not released, but NBC News reported rapper Kodak Black was among the wounded.

Officers who responded to the scene found two victims. Paramedics took them to the hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries, police said in an updated statement Saturday afternoon.

Two additional victims went to hospitals on their own, according to the statement. All four victims were listed in stable condition.

Detectives asked witnesses to come forward to help them identify the gunman.

Videos posted on TMZ.com and on social media show Black posing for photos with a group of people outside the restaurant when the brawl broke out. Black is among several people involved in the brawl when shots rang out, sending everyone at the scene running for cover.

Law enforcement sources told NBC News that Black, whose legal name is Bill Kapri, was among the people shot and injured. A message to his publicist at Atlantic Records has not been returned.

The party followed Bieber's private concert at the Pacific Design Center in West Hollywood, California as part of a Super Bowl-week party dubbed “Homecoming Weekend.” The guests at the star-studded event included Jeff Bezos, his girlfriend TV host Lauren Sánchez, “Hamilton” actor Anthony Ramos and NFL Hall-of-Famer Tony Gonzalez.

The Hollywood Reporter reports that Bieber and his wife Hailey Baldwin, Drake, Khloe Kardashian and Tobey Maguire were also among the celebrities seen entering the afterparty.

Super Bowl LVI Celeb Security Beefing Up!!! Violent Crime Streak Raises Concerns

f1d6c5eb385846e4afdae90007d02543_md.jpg

Timing is everything, and Super Bowl LVI's couldn't be worse for celebs already on edge due to recent violent crimes in L.A. -- and all that adds up to way more biz this weekend for private security companies.

During a normal Super Bowl, celebs attending the big game wouldn't call for backup, as it were, because the NFL and host city always have tight security teams and measures in place -- but that's different this year. However, Los Angeles has seen a lot of violence building up to game day, so big names in attendance are asking for more protection.

2 Deep Security says they're covering a handful of clients at the game, including Saints linebacker Kwon Alexander. They say each client's getting 3 guards ... 2 inside SoFi Stadium, and one on the outside. They've normally dispatched one bodyguard per celeb at Super Bowls.

Of course, L.A.'s famous for traffic ... so, naturally, Ratpack Worldwide Security says it's getting a spike in specialty transportation requests. A rep tells us their bulletproof rides and black truck fleets are providing the kinda protection celebs want while traveling to and from the game and all the parties this weekend.

Speaking of those parties, Kings Protection tells TMZ ... many of their clients are avoiding the bigger public parties they'd normally attend, and instead, doing smaller ones at hotels and Airbnbs -- but even there, they'll still have protection.

Bottom line ... the bodyguarding biz is winning big this weekend.

LAPD Chief Moore: Super Bowl-sex trafficking link is a ‘myth’? Talk to cops and survivors

90

To the editor: Your editorial states that human sex trafficking is not increased by big sporting events and the link with the Super Bowl is a “myth” and a lie.

Space won’t allow me to articulate the academic studies that validate the exceptional spike in prostitution advertisements, or rescue organizations and survivors’ accounts that vehemently disagree with your callous remarks. Additionally, law enforcement officers with their own experiences dealing with sex trafficking crimes understand a much different reality from your editorial dismissal.

Just last weekend, 14 individuals were arrested for sex trafficking-related offenses at a single hotel associated with Super Bowl activities, with a number of those arrested traveling from other regions of the country. Isolated? Not at all. Just as the region has seen a flood of counterfeit merchandise and other illicit opportunists related to the Super Bowl, sex trafficking similarly follows.

Additionally, Times readers deserve more from your editorial board than cynicism and your insulting declaration that law enforcement promotes these “myths” because it’s good for business. Comparing law enforcement’s description of the reality of increased sex trafficking during mega events to lies about the coronavirus, stolen elections and QAnon is offensive.

We’ve seen firsthand the lives lost because people are willing to sell others’ bodies. I invite one of your editors to spend some time with our investigators and rescue organizations. Perhaps it could help inform the editorial board and improve your perspective of our officers’ integrity and dedicated work.
