Swedes bemused as SAUSAGEMAN opens school

Is this real life?
On the surface, the school in Sodermalm - a well-to-do district of the Swedish capital - seems like any other. But listen carefully and you'll notice a big difference.

The teachers avoid using the pronouns "him" and "her" when talking to the children.

Instead they refer to them as "friends", by their first names, or as "hen" - a genderless pronoun borrowed from Finnish.

I protest the use of SAUSAGEMAN as a nick; it definitely leans toward one gender!
 
interestingly, before my first coffee, and because it's a nice day out, it seems to me that alot of us in the MF have gender-neutral names - oh - except for SAUSAGEMAN.

I went out for a girl called Dave for years. Her voice was low, and she was suspiciously good at fixing cars but she was great company!

yes, Cassie, Dr Dave, Mirah, eloisel, Tisi, mm, Dono, Jack and SUGAR BUM are gender- specific!!! grrrrrr!

They'll just send him back, and nobody wants that.
