Terminator: Salvation

Well, instead of writing a story within the confines of pre-written Trek canon, Abrams just threw 40+ years of material out the window and re-wrote Lost on the bridge of the Enterprise.

It was absolutely nothing like Lost in the slightest and the alternate universe thing has been gone over many times. I thought you were joking.

Terminator.
back on topic, I just watched it.

I liked it. a local paper ripped it apart, but, hey, they hate everything.

the CGI set design for the background was excellent, there was a helicopter scene where they did a continuous shot of Bale at the controls, hit, damages, spinning, and crashing upside-down that was done extremely well.

And bringing back the AH-Nold Terminator was awesome!

One note to pick at, I don't know why John Connor doesn't have radiation sickness because he was near enough to TWO nuclear blasts to blow his skin off.

There were Lots of nods to things in the movie, the Guns & Roses track was to the G&R used in the first movie, the Human cattle scene reminded me tons of Pink Floyd: the Wall, and lots of references to classic Terminator movements that were emulated perfectly.

One surprise that I liked, the theme was composed by Danny Elfman, and orchestrated by Steve Bartek, a co-conspiritor of Elfman from Oingo Boingo. That was nice.

Really? That's pretty cool. I need to go watch Forbidden Zone, it's been a while.... no, wait... actually, I don't. ...

See if there is a YouTube of the Mystic Forests of Oingo Boingo on the Gong Show.
This was their First appearance!
