**The 2019 World Series**

President Donald Trump says he'll attend Game 5 of World Series
President Donald Trump says he is planning to attend the World Series on Sunday if it goes to a fifth game. The president confirmed his plans Thursday while presenting the Presidential Medal of Freedom to Roger Penske, a businessman and founder of one of the world's most successful motorsports teams.

.
Other presidents who attended World Series game were Woodrow Wilson (1915), Calvin Coolidge (1924), Herbert Hoover (1929, 1930, 1931), Franklin Roosevelt (1933, 1936), Dwight Eisenhower (1956), Jimmy Carter (1979) and Ronald Reagan (1983).

President Trump met with boos at Game 5 of World Series
President Donald Trump was met with loud, sustained boos and chants of "Lock him up!'' from fans at Nationals Park when he was shown on the in-stadium video screen after the third inning of Game 5 of the World Series. The boos ended only after the video screen cut to a shot of U.S. service members waving to the crowd and then showed a message thanking the military. Trump attended the Astros-Nationals game with five wounded veterans.

Who will be the World Series MVP? It's anyone's guess
Altuve is 29 years old; he'll turn 30 shortly after the start of next season. He just completed his ninth big league season. It doesn't work like this, but you can kind of imagine his final career totals at this juncture by simply doubling his current numbers. Those would include a .315 batting average, second among active players, and a projected 3,136 hits. He has won three batting titles, led the AL in hits four times, won an MVP award and a Gold Glove. He has all the earmarks of a Hall of Famer.

Astros-Nationals World Series is on pace to be least-watched ever
Through the first five games, the World Series has been averaging 11.6 million viewers, the Nielsen company said. That puts it on pace to be the least-watched Fall Classic ever, although ratings tend to pick up when a series reaches a sixth or deciding seventh game. Game 6 is Tuesday in Houston. The previous low point came in 2012, when an average of 12.64 million viewers watched the San Francisco Giants complete a four-game sweep over the Detroit Tigers.

Max Scherzer cleared to start potential Game 7 of World Series
Scherzer was scratched from a scheduled Game 5 start because of neck spasms so severe that he told reporters Sunday that "I can't even lift my arm right now." Righty Joe Ross replaced Scherzer on the mound. The Astros won the game 7-1 to take a 3-2 lead in the series.

This franchise started out as the Montreal Expos in 1969 when the major leagues expanded beyond the border, putting a team with tricolor caps at jaunty Jarry Park. They moved to D.C. in 2005, ending Washington's three-decade-plus wait for big league baseball after the Senators left town to become the Texas Rangers.

Stephen Strasburg named World Series MVP after earning two wins
Strasburg was voted MVP of the World Series following the Nationals' 6-2 victory over Houston in Game 7, the first title in the 51 seasons of the Washington/Montreal Expos franchise. Strasburg's October is unmatched, the first pitcher to go 5-0 in a single postseason -- Arizona's Randy Johnson was 5-2 in 2001 and Angels reliever Francisco Rodriguez 5-1 the following year. Stras, as teammates call him, struck out 47 and walked four in 36⅓ innings. He won Games 2 and 6 against Houston in the World Series, giving up four runs over 14⅓ innings in an analytic era of quick hooks.

Houston Astros a great team that fell short of true greatness
Everything about Houston, and the colossus they have become, and the unstoppable force they've been built to be, was on display during the World Series. It just turned out to not be enough. They needed five games to take out the Tampa Bay Rays, six to upend the New York Yankees and the full seven to try to silence the tough Washington Nationals.

The seventh inning that shocked Houston and made the Nationals World Series champions
Or just call it this: The inning that made the Washington Nationals the World Series champions, as Howie Kendrick once again played postseason superhero. Kendrick's two-run home run off the foul pole in right off Will Harris gave the Nationals a 3-2 lead and was one of the most dramatic Game 7 homers in World Series history
