The Big Day

2008. Bush has the country in such a mess, President Elect Obama is asked to take office early. Neither Romney nor Ryan take their own home states. That's bad.
 
"Math you do as a Republican to make you feel better" is the standout quote from me of the election. (and it was from Fox news lol)

The shame is that the Republicans have only themselves to blame. America (from an outside view) appears to be evolving with a changing mood and demographic. I'm sure a lot of fundamentalist Republicans have a problem with that as a concept in all sorts of ways. So what do they do? They put forward an very wealthy Mormon who is quite passionate about being right wing when the political spectrum in America is becoming centred and conspicuous wealth is seen as avarice.

The bad news is that Obama should have had better opposition. It was too easy for him.
 
What's even weirder is that lots of conservative pundits think Romney wasn't conservative ENOUGH. That they should double down even more, or some shit.

I caught the tail end of The O'Reilly Factor a couple nights ago, and there was O'Reilly and that comedian who used to be on SNL WHAT THE FUCK IS HIS NAME? anyway they were lamenting that this new America isn't the America they grew up in... WELL NO SHIT. Their America isn't the same America their grandparents grew up in, and theirs wasn't the same as their grandparents AND SO ON FOR FUCKING EVER. There is no such thing as "the good old days", unless you mean the days when you were young and carefree.. those are the only good old days and everyone has them. I hope I don't forget that when I'm old and grumpy. OLDER AND GRUMPIER.

What we lose in national GDP, we would more than make up in all the savings in state budger assistance and social programs.

And we would just move any government contracts to non-seceding states. Oops!

They'd be begging Mexico for welfare within a year.
