yeah. wot a disappointment.
at least the novel was a fun summer read...and nothing wrong with that. If there were holes in the plot that a Mac truck could drive through, so what? It was a page-turner and just as much fun as my favourite mystery novels genre.
maybe those involved with the film took it all too seriously? I dunno.
I wasn't impressed with the book at all.. but I read Angels and Demons first which was much more entertaining to me for some reason.
I have no interest in the movie.. maybe it's because the media Da Vinci coded me to death. They are still doing it on the damn History channel... Just more weird shit to fuel the conspiracy nuts addled brains.
I remember hearing she was quite underwhelming in this, but then the character she plays isn't very interesting. She just sits there asking the audience's questions and somehow not realising the very obvious revelation that'll be unveiled at the end.
I did like the book, though Angels & Demons is actually better. The weird thing is that both books have the same main character, but he doesn't seem to remember the events from one book to the next.
^yeah, Menty, Audrey is not well-served in this, alas.
I did want to see how Jean Reno and Ian McKellen plyed their roles, as they are two of my favourite character actors...and they weren't bad, considering what they had to work with.
I know, damned with faint praise.
