**THE FELLOWSHIP OF THE MINEFIELD - The Continuing Saga**

Its called personal choice.

Just because everyone else is doing something and raving about it doesnt mean I have to join in too, not going with the flow has often got me in trouble in the past, and is still doing so now, but I'd rather be the lone individual who speaks out against the crowd, than be part of the crowd joining in a group chant, miming the words because I dont really know them.

Tha'ts cool but you're missing out on one of the finest and most ambitious works ever penned (IMO)

And the movies are milestones in cinema history.

I'm just surprised you haven't bothered with them, they are an important part of popular culture and simply quality.

whisky, the books are wondrous, but can be pretty daunting if you're going into them cold turkey, and fantasy is not your thing.

But the films are breath-taking - literally.

The New Zealand scenery combined with a pretty faithful screen play and the brilliant casting make this trilogy simply enchanting.
Don't be mis-led; it's not just for kids.

p.s. and Treebeard rocks! ;)

I am waiting for the time, which shouldnt be too far away, when channel four shows them all, either over one weekend, or just one week appart, they have already shown the first two, but I didnt want the wait for the sequals, I want to see them all in one go.

Plus I am a little annoyed with the current sucsess of fantasy books, which took away demand for sci fi books at the time I was trying to get mine published, damn you JK!

I can totally understand this line of thought, in fact I try to think this way in everyday life.

But there are those occational things out there where the group really does know what they're talking about. Especially with the LOTR, yeah, that and sex. Everybody likes both, and for good reason.

Yep, back it goes. I will carry on with this when I am in the right head space, just not in the right mood at this particular moment. But later.

Certainly, take your time! Just don't want this to go "out of sight, out of mind" because of some poopy-ness which is of course the rightful legacy of the Minefield. Maybe you should ask Cait to move this thread to Sardy's Writer's Workshop forum? Eh? Eh? B?
