The New Macs are out today!

Macs suck.

Real men use DOS. They have about as much memory as Ozzy Osbourne, they cost too much, Atari had better games.

My computer boots from cold to Windows in 14 seconds. How long does a your mac take?

Oh, and graphic design? The *BIG* plus to Macs? Not faster. My PC decimates a G5 at all graphic processing work. Oh is it still rendering that filter in PS?

Macromedia Studio MX. PC 1/3 the price can run it faster than a Mac ect.

I can't live with out my scroll wheel. I refuse to drag everything on my screen.

Ok, here is the computer I am on right now. This isn't even my Ninja PC. I'm upgrading that bad-boy so I'm on my secondary PC right now. Slightly less powerful than my main rig but still a pretty souped up machine:

This computer would beat out the G5. I can guarantee it. And it cost a fraction of the price to custom build by yours truly.

The G5 does not support hyperthreading. Meaning pentium can hurt it bad.

I'll give the G5 After Effect's but to be fair to the PC (which beats the G5 in every other test anyway) these programs are geared towards Mac's, not that it matters.

This is a test from a year ago but yeah. I wouldn't like to test a G5 against some of the new processors out for the PC. And always it is incredibly easy to build a "big dog" PC and never crosses the price of a G5.

Pc's are more bang for your buck, better, faster, more compatible and more customizable.

Anyone who harps on about XP not comparing to OSX are fighting a losing battle. Windows does have security flaws, it's true. But a savvy user can avoid any real problem. And if you're still not convinced then just use Linux. Something like RedHat will whip OsX and is prettier and easier.

But do not alas Windows users! For Vista is nearly here. The next-gen OS. Yep, 2006 is the year, not long to go now. I have used a beta and it is solid. This is going to be the turning point for Windows based systems. Remember XP is alnmost six years old. Vista is no update. It's a re-design, and its going to be glourious.

GO VISTA! IT'S YOUR BIRTHDAY!!!

MACS SUCK.

And if you're STILL not convinced. Then just watch this fucking awesome flash:

LOL at the flash.

I have a beta of vista waiting for me to install at home. I was going to put it onto my old laptop, but it went bye bye a couple of weeks ago :(

I think I'm going to put it on one of my older machines, and check it out.

Keep in mind it is still Beta. And due to the nature of it being a totally new OS there will be a lot of bugs and missing features. It's worth checking out if you're an enthusiast though.

WinVI is slated for a July release but we probably won't get it until September.

If the tests were from a year ago, then the G5 was probably using the Motorola chip and not the Intel, correct? So the scores are meaningless today.

Yes, they are out of date. But still, the facts remains, Mac's are overpriced and not that great. A PC with the same money thrown at it as a G5 would decimate all competition.

Mac's being touted as being so much faster than PC's in the graphical processing application realm is a fallacy.

Mac's get good press becuase they are not "as" prone to spyware and screw-up's in IE. But I like to be in control of my machine and anyone who wishes to have a grip on his/her system can never get that with a Mac.

With the release of Vista there will no longer be a jump up on the competition with having OSX. Vista will be the OS of choice. And when looking under the hood... PC's are well ahead of the game.

Mac's are teh suck.

You yourself concede that the charts and figures and whatnot are out of date, so I won't waist time talking about them.

What do you mean by not "as" prone? Macs do not get viruses. Macs do not get spyware. In fact, the systems that I've seen screw up most are the Macs with Norton Utilities on them.

OS X, updated and un-fucked with, runs perfectly stable. Now, as a straight command line DOS man, if you were to take up Unix, you would love OS X. The control that you are accustomed to in Windows you would have with the Mac.

With the release of Vista there will no longer be a jump up on the competition with having OSX. Vista will be the OS of choice. And when looking under the hood... PC's are well ahead of the game.

Well, I'm eager to see if it lives up to the hype. As a cross platform user, there are things that I see in OS X that I wish were in XP, and very occasionally, vise versa. If it's new and improved, it's got to be at the very least fun to play with, right? I wonder if we'll be having this discussion again when the new Intel Powermacs come out and the $2,000 model compares to your Ninja rig.

Mac's are teh suck.

Open for debate.

They don't need to. Apple had the extraordinary forethought to bundle enough annoyance factor into the whole package that the aftermarket annoyance community just couldn't outdo them. :P

Have you been annoyed with Macs because of a familiarity issue? I'm never annoyed with my computer, it works all day every day.

Each platform is perfectly usable, it's just when you get used to one the other is quite anti-intuitive. That's because it's two separate software houses putting together a system that they think is easiest to use, it's only natural that what is intuitive on one platform is counter-intuitive on the other.

So the annoyance and occasional distain you feel is perfectly normal. It would be crazy for us to think that one platform would suit every computer user out there. And that's why I believe blanket statements like, "Macs suck," should be argued.
