I still find it interesting that Enterpriser completely disappeared from all of his haunts exactly when he pulled the permaban. No more Enty blogs. :(

But yeah, the refund question is a good one, assuming Christian or T'Bonz didn't have him rubbed out.

Not that I know of. As aggressive as they have been, I'd imagine we'd have heard about it by now if they did have a problem with voluntary donations for premium features on a BBS geared towards Star Trek. Viacom's having some corporate problems and transitions, so it may be that the board is still just under the radar.

BB doesn't have access to those stats. I do and looked it up. I saw 43.
 
...and to be honest, it really isn't a big deal or any conspiracy lurking under the covers. People are told up front what they are getting for their money, and aren't forced or extorted from to sign up. They also get aboslutely no other prefferential treatment for being premium members beyond the stated ones, since accept for the once in a blue moon eye-catching user-title, all the accounts appear identical to the mods.
 
you might make more money if you charged for get out of jail free cards. Ya know, a pack of trolls for $30 lets you troll with impunity for 3 times or something.

But, hey, I'm just me, but I'd rather just install anti-spam software, like Norton Anti-Spam or Norton Internet Security instead of giving them any money.
 
I don't know the exact amount. Its an extrememly negligible amount when matched to the expenses of keeping the board online and functioning. That is my own personal opinion, that I arrived at from various convesations. I, nor anyone else here can physically verify it one way or the other. The only person that can answer that definitively, is Christian. Everything else is just speculation.

Wordin: Nobody in this thread has facts; everybody is giving their opinions. If you have a problem with that, then your SOL. Thats the nature of speculation. As for me having knowledge of how TBBS is run, I have more knowledge of that than you do. In the future, if you don't want my opinion, don't ask me any questions.
 
I refuse to point out anymore of your apparant context reading errors to you. Reading the post from beginning to end should paint a pretty clear image of what I'm saying. If you like, pretend I never posted. The end result will be the same.

I wasn't asking your opinion. I was asking you to back up an opinion which you had already given with some hard facts. Of course, you were unable to do so.
 
OMG. You just made a declarative statement about the revenue being minimal and then stated in the same paragraph that any speculation about the revenue would be uninformed.
 
My opinion was backed up by factual observations. Opinions don't require any actual factual backing, anyways, hence why there are often so many of them on any given point or subject. Besides which, nobody in this thread has any factual information on how much income Christian makes from ads. He isn't required to share that information with us.

Its plainly obvious what my inference was by the latter half of that post, which makes this entire preceding rather pedantic. If it helps you understand more clearly, you may mentally insert the words "In my opinion" in front of that declarative sentence.
