Use the eraser then. Works wonders.

In Photoshop, select the blank around the poopstick layer*, then use Select/Modify/Expand, maybe 2 or 3 pixels instead of 1 for this pic. Then delete and it should look smoother. Maybe a light pass around the edges with the blur tool to blend. Some use the Feather function, but I think it's too severe.
