The Top 100 Genre Episode Discussion Thread

Not a big Trek watcher, I knew that the majority of the episodes would be ST-related still, and I felt that it was cool to put in the shows that impacted me, since I can't say ST ever did. Notice the many Xena eps. <g>
For 1995, it was ahead of its time, and paved the way for Buffy, Alias, and others like it. Besides, the first three seasons aired at midnight where I lived, and it was an insomniac's dream. So, I understand how all of our lists will be different, but hopefully we can all find something good about each episode posted. And for me, who can name maybe 10 Star Trek episodes that I've seen (that's all the series combined) perhaps try to watch one of these the next time they're on.

^I can remember watching that show with my parents when it aired on Showtime? I believe. I was in elementary school, but I remember how we looked forward to it each week. Even then, I knew Robin was hot!!
I even remember my mom crying a bit with the episode where he died, and they all shoot the arrows with fire into the water...is that the right one? Or am I mixing two shows together?

We probably should have had this discussions BEFORE we'd even started the list, IN HINDSIGHT.

OK, it's time to bring this back up and finalize some choices before the main thread gets bumped up to Top 200.
I'll say again that while the list is definitely going to be personal to each of us and our choices on it are going to reflect that we should try and make choices from a critical standpoint.
So while an episode may be a guilty pleasure is it really a classic? That's what I'd like the list to represent. Classic hours of television. Guilty pleasures that may be good episodes but are not really classics bog down the list too much.
My suggestions for the chopping block so far:
The Fraggle rock episode.
TOS: Deadly Years (not one of the best at all)
TOS: The Way to Eden (I love this episode as well but it is in no way a classic)
There are probably too many Xena's on the list. I don't remember that show having that many classic episodes.
There are probably some animated episodes of shows on the list that could be culled as well.
Everything deserves a more critical look through. We're geeks we can make this thread the creme de la creme and I think if you look through it now it doesn't really come across as definitive at all.
What I would suggest is everyone have another look through the thread and ask yourself if your choices in the list are really representative of the most classic episodes of genre television.
If you feel that you may have put an episode in that perhaps doesn't deserve its premium spot on the list then you can post in this thread to replace your choice.
I will be fixing all the screencaps and hosting them as well so they won't dissappear again and doing a bit more clean-up work in the thread but I'll wait until we have made some choices about some of the underserving places on the list.
I'd like to have the thread updated to Top 200 with all the first 100 fixed and looking good by tomorrow if we can so lets get to it!

6. It IS a classic Twilight Zone, but in hindsight I can think of a few others that were MOAR classic, which I will add to the new list.
29. Land of the Lost - sentimental Saturday morning favorite. It's definitely the most worthy episode of the series, but is it classic? I don't know.
58. Six Million Dollar Man - another childhood fave, probably more guilty pleasure than classic...actually no, I'll defend this choice. KEEP.
85. Venture Bros. - While I'm defending my other anime choices (see below), I'll give up this one. It IS an epic, epic episode, but it's really a comedy, not sci-fi.
96. Evangelion - Definitely drop this episode. If I think of another better one I'll suggest it. And while I will defend my other anime choices, if we decide that anime shouldn't be incuded (I think it should), I won't pitch a fit.
