They demanded he hand everything back to them. HOw does one hand over developed oilfields that sit smack in Venezuela? The Americans think they own the world. This is currently the problem Venz is having. They kicked out all the supermajors, but now Petrobras can't do anything with all their oil. Production has been falling ever since. They are currently trying to lure them back, but for some reason they are all telling Venz to fuck off. :rofl:

Pssst! Hey Luci, just b/c a company has the name Canada in it doesn't make it Canadian. As of 06 Shell Canada is a wholly owned subsidiary of Royal Dutch Shell.

That list only compares private companies. Together the six supermajors (BP, Royal Dutch Shell,Total S.A., Exxon/Mobile, Conoco/Phillips and Chevron) controll less than 5% of world oil reserves. The rest are controlled by state owned energy companies. Now as I said earlier almost all other nations are too incompetent to develop their energy on their own so contract out to the supermajors, but even so the state firms are larger. Exxon Mobile (largest of the supermajors) is only 14th of world energy companies.
