The rocket that was meant to majestically send him off into space with another 200 people has crashed in the New Mexico mountains. :roll:

I do respect Doohan, but it's not like HE was really in that rocket, just some ashes.
 
They should have put his ashes in some dynamite and straped it to a suicide bomber, its what he would have wanted, as he was insane towards the end

Er, that was the plan. They were expected to come down about 30 miles from their launch point, though most of the news reports glossed over that.

That's why I didn't see the point in it all, it's not like the ashes would permanently be in space, they'd just fall down again after a while.
