I want to smell dark matter
"You are the king of the imps?" asked Gombon, shocked, though he wasn't sure why.

"Yep," said Jobbot.

"ALL imps?" asked Gombon. It just seemed wrong. Jobbot was so small!

"Yep," said Jobbot.

"Oh," said Gombon. "You...must have had to kill many to become king."

"Indeed. Didn't want to, though. But it was my birthright. Had to become king, for the good of the people. And all that crap."

"Kind of like Grambon," said Gombon, amazed by the coincidence that Jobbot had been in a situation similar to his brother.

"Oh, nothing like that. MUCH more important than that. Do you know what the imp realm in like, Grambon?"

"Well...only the childish stories. And I'm sure they're not accurate."

"No, don't even bother recounting them, I'm sure they're not accurate too. Well, the imp realm...it's nothing like this. The human world is so...brown. So depressing. The elf realm? The colours are ALIVE!"

"Sounds, fascinating..." there was a strange look in Jobbot's eyes now, something wild, lustful. Gombon felt scared. He stepped back, instinctively.

"You want to leave?" asked Jobbot, trying to sound indifferent, but Gombon could hear a twinge of sadness.

"Yes. No. I don't know."

"You still haven't had your wish!"

"My what?"

"Your wish, boy! Remember?"

"Say the name of The Jobbot and he will grant you what your heart desires. But beware, for there is a price. There is always a price."

"Well, quite."

"Just something we were told as children...I'm sure it's not accurate either."

"As long as your sure..."

"I...I don't know what to wish for," said Gombon. Ideas were coming to him though. End the war. End the travelling. Let him go home and by with her.

"Oh come now, we both know that's not true. You're probably thinking it right now."

"Well..."

"You want me to kill your brother, don't you?"

"Brambon!?"

"Yes. Thy will be done..."

"NO, I DON'T WANT THAT!" Jobbot smiled, wickedly.

"Are you sure you don't? Think about it, wouldn't it be the only way to end this war? As long as your brother is alive your people won't stop fighting. They can't win, of course, you know that. They are hunted from all sides and their forces do not grow larger, only smaller. Then only way to end it is to remove Brambon. Then your people can go back to your old lives. No one would care, with Brambon gone. You could be with your girlfriend again. Yes, I know about her. I know a lot..."

"You don't know me! You don't know me at all if you think I would want that! NEVER! BE GONE! I reject your offer! I want nothing from you, gremlin! LEAVE THIS PLACE AND NEVER COME BACK."

Jobbot laughed. "Oh, you will have your wish. And wishing that I would leave you alone doesn't count. You will have it...that's what the rules say. Tell you what, I'll hang around for a while. Watch you...when you're ready I'll come to you. Goodbye for now!"

And he was gone, just like that. And time began to move again. Someone stepped up behind Grombon. He span around in fear. It was Brambon.

"Brother? What are you doing out here?"

"I...I heard a noise...it was nothing."

"Well come inside! It's getting late...it's nearly time to get up again." Brambon laughed at that and, just for the briefest of moments, Grombon hated him deeply, but he did not know why.

"I'm coming," he said, following his brother inside, looking over his shoulder as he did. He thought he saw something small moving in the trees.
