Throwing babies out with the bathwater

I want to smell dark matter
Has anyone ever actually done it?
 
It was an expression used in the days when water used for bathing was reused by everyone in the family. First dad got the first bath, then mom or the endless children, and the baby came last. So that that time the water was pretty darn murky and one just might toss the water into the street and find that the baby was in that dirty water awaiting its bath. Whether it was ever done or not, knowing humans to be an inattentive lot, it just might have happened -- hence the expression.

Why waste perfectly good soup?
 
i heard baby meat tastes a lot like veal, but alas, i have no first hand knowlege. We should ask CoyoteUgly for his opinion IMO.
