Joe Mangeniello calls off engagement, 'True Blood' star breaks up with fiancee Audra Marie

Hear that howling at the moon? That might just be the mating call of newly-single "True Blood" werewolf Joe Mangeniello.

Us Weekly is reporting that the 34-year-old beefcake has split with actress Audra Marie, his fiancée of less than a year.

Mangeniello, who plays lupine Alcide on the HBO vampire series, got engaged to Marie last October during an Italian vacation.

"I always dreamed of finding someone who is beautiful and sweet, equal parts. And I did," he told E! News not long after their engagement.

"From there she's just unbelievably understanding and compassionate and patient from all the craziness that comes from this job and lifestyle."

Something must have gone wrong along the way, though.

A source close to the couple tells Us Weekly, "It's totally over."

Another pal says, "It was a long time coming," referring to the rumors that Mangeniello refused to make plans for the big day while his beloved had already picked out a dress and bridal party members. She had even allegedly begun registering for gifts.

"They'll both be better off for it," the source said of the split.

No wolf will stray from the pack for long, however: Mangeniello was spotted Monday night at a New York Fashion Week party cozying up to foxy actress Rose McGowan, 38. Perhaps he'll be back off the market again soon.
