TK the Flick: treatments, scripts, shots

Could do up something along the lines of Clerks, only with the TK crowd as an ensemble engaging in various RL iterations of their respective trademark trolling as well as the responses it might actually get. Tying all the individual trolls together with discussions in an actual "Tea Room" would put a central theme to it. We could even throw in a rather seedy-looking bar and call it "The Mine Field," peopled appropriately. 
What, nothing? Shit, that's not only a genius idea, it's actually do-able! Probably even commercially viable! Damn!

Wow, this whole idea went over like a fart in church.
I like it. The RL bar scenes could be in subdued, Jarmusch-style B&W, while the recollections of the trolling are done in bright color and with some utterly wild Sam Raimi or Cohen Bros. direction.
As for thematic unity, I was thinking in the vein of "Short Cuts" or "Slacker", but that might be too rambling. There probably should be some sort of plot, but it shouldn't be any hokey watch-these-scamps-solve-a-crime crap; something in between the Jerky Boys getting in trouble with organized crime and Jackass stunts just for the hell of it.
Maybe, after "the Greatest Troll of All", the news comes in over the bar's TV that "the First Amendment has just been repealed". At that moment hordes of Feds bust into the Mine Field and a shootout begins. The survivors are hauled off to prison; only Messenger escapes. ::sequel::

What about something along the lines of a Pulp Fiction-ish plot of individual trolls that eventually converge?

^^Sounds good to me. I guess the hard part would be deciding which trolls would be worthy of inclusion and which should just be window dressing, subplots, contextual, etc. Also, which trolls are the most cinematically viable? I mean, we can't just have a bunch of shots of various people pounding keyboards intercut with screen shots of text.
I've just waded into my own little long-term prose/script project, and won't be hanging around too much anymore. Hopefully some stalwart TK historian will come to the fore and take up this daunting task.

This is "Diner" meets "Its a Mad, Mad, Mad World". All of us are gathered in a Diner the night before my funeral (yep, still dead), and what starts of an evening of gentle reminiscing turns into a whacky, all-night-long, head-long dive into the dark nether-world of cyberdom searching for the last computer TheArtist used, because that's where all the "real" identities are stored.
Each "flashback" gives our hapless heros another clue to the real identity of TheArtist and the location of the "storage center".
The twist will be Miss Manners - she reallly knows who TheArtist was and she is trying to keep the data, and the blackmail opps running.
That's a pitch my friends.

I like the idea of TKers being unlikely heroes - protectors of free speech everywhere. Their catch phrases run along the lines of Imus' "nappy headed hoes" and Jessie Jackson's "cut off his balls." Could have a scene where a Dog the Bounty Hunter type is going after someone about to shoot up a church because that someone doesn't like the church's liberal views. "Dog" and his crew have to go through a cemetary. A little boy/girl in the crew asks, "Granddaddy, why do you have a tombstone out there with all those black people?" And, don't forget - VKD is always leaving at 5.

The problem in translating TK into a movie is that TK (or any bbs) is nothing but dialogue and no action. Now, if we had actions to go with the dialogue, it'd be great. Also, an ensemble cast of TK's proportions wouldn't work.
The only way to make a TK movie possible is to remove A LOT of the superfluous posters and leave the major players. Then, you'd have to find which of those are more personable and generally liked. Once a list of ten major players has been hammered out, you then start to mold their online personae into their cinematic characters. After those have been found, all you need to do is imagine all of them put together in everyday life situations and think of how'd they react. BDM made a thread about real-life trolling that he'd done to a customer in the grocery store he worked in. That was a great example of what I'm talking about. Alas, through all of my extensive searching, it's gone.

Nick Naylor from "Thank You for Smoking"
Dr. Peter Venkman from "Ghost Busters"
Peter LaFleur from "Dodgeball"
Royal Tenenbaum from "The Royal Tenenbaums"
James "Droz" Andrews from "PCU"
Etc.
