I always support the PoTUS even if he isn't my choice. It is in my best interest to do so.
I expect more from you but it appears you've become a parrot.Isn't the Constitution clear that it's not always in your best interest to do so?
Oh yeah, it's been mostly ripped up by the Neo-Cons...my mistake.
I expect more from you but it appears you've become a parrot.
Supporting does not mean one always agrees. However, always being rude, always taking the opposite side, always making a face and sticking one's tongue out, always hating, always doing whatever one can to make sure the person in charge fails in any endeavour just so you can bitch isn't in anyone's best interest period.
The most telling quote came yesterday from a black woman in Sarasota, FL. She said, and I quote:
"Now I don't have to worry about putting gas in my car. Now I don't have to worry about paying my mortgage. I took care of Him, and He'll take care of me."
That my friends, sums up the near-messianic quality with which Obama supporters view their candidate, our new President-elect. They'll either be rudely awakened, or simply blame his failings on other (white) people in Congress & the Senate. "Take credit for everything good, and shift the blame for everything bad" is the motto of Liberal Democrats, especially black Liberal Democrats.
God help us when the economy tanks even further.
Look, let's be honest, the fact of the matter is, the President of the United States wields almost no legislative power. Sure, he can veto bills before they become laws, but that's about it.
Did I want McCain to win? Yes. Do I believe the country will suffer some irreperable harm simply because Obama will be our next President? Of course not.
However, the thing that truly worries me is having a Democratic President with a Democratically-controlled House & Senant. That's where President Obama could wield some serious power. Look, when any party has too much power and control, the overwhelming tendency is to abuse it. Gone are checks and balances that protect the minority of the people; it's a simple case of "majority rules". That's not what the United States of America was founded on.
The single biggest problem I have with Liberal Democrats is the hypocrisy that seems to have infused the party lately. Single-party control of the Executive and Legislative branches is wrong...unless the Dems are the ones pulling the strings. Meh.
